I have completed an audience questionnaire, in order to get an idea of peoples listening habits. This will help me when writing my own radio script.

Representation in News presenters

Throughout this post I am going to explore the ways in which News presenters come across to the audience whilst presenting the radio show. For instance, I will be taking note of voices used, language, 'banter', tone of voice and interactions with other presenters. In order to do this, I will be looking at two completely opposite types of radio stations; Kiss  and Magic. By doing this will help me to create the scripting for my own news bulletin.  The first radio show I am going to be looking at is Kiss. There were two presenters on this show, a young male and female. They both spoke in an informal manner, with a slow relaxed voice as well as having 'banter' with each other. An example of this is when they both started singing the lyrics to a Rihanna song, whilst laughing about it.  The second radio show news bulletin which I listened too was from Magic. Different types of jingles

After listening to a variety of different radio stations, I have concluded that there a number of different kinds of jingles on each station.  The site below includes many of the different types of jingles. I have used this as part of my research.  http://www.music4.com/radiojingles 1) Weather Jingles  -The tone of weather jingles are usually a lot softer than other jingles -They sometimes include sound effects (e.g. of the weather) -Weather jingles for weather reports are usually played in the morning, so listeners have an outlook for the rest of their day  -Weather jingles will include the name of their station, and often have the word 'weather' at the end  -Companies usually sponsor weather jingles 2) Travel and traffic Jingles  -Travel and traffic jingles include the name of the station, with the word travel or traffic at the end -These jingles do not always have music playing, sometimes they will have sounds of traffic in at the end -Th...

Similarities and differences between bulletins

After listening to three different news bulletins; Talk Sport, Radio 2 and Kerrang, along with contrasting the running order, facts and news values of each bulletin, I am now going to analyse each of the similarities and differences.  Across all three radio stations I listened too, they all contained at least one of the same news story.  For example, all three stations included the story about Lauri Love facing hacking charges. Both Radio 2 and Kerrang bulletins contained the story about Ethan Stables having been convicted over Gay Pride attack plan, however Talk Sport didn't contain this story.  However, some stories such as Harry Kane's denial of diving in the premier league, only appeared on Talk Sport. This is because most of the people who tune into this station are interested in sports stories, which wouldn't necessarily be reported in other radio stations such as Radio 2 and Kerrang.  Kerrang was the only radio station to ...
