Evaluation - technologies

Throughout the whole process of creating my radio show and developing my research and planning I used a large range of different technologies. The technologies I used have been significant in enabling me to produce work to my highest standard. Although some of the technology was slightly complicated, I managed to quickly understand how to use it all. The high variety of different software and hardwares lead me to my ideas and creativity. Since first creating my Blogger account, gradually I found it a lot easier to insert hyperlinks, audio and images.  Blogger Blogger is what I have used to complete my research and planning, along with my evaluations. For instance, It has allowed me to complete my tasks, write about them, include images, links, videos, music as well as acting as the template to my final radio show. Within my evaluation, I have been able to link certain blog posts, to help me refer back to my previous work. Moreover, there is a very clear layout and

Evaluation - Audience (who would they be and how did I attract them)

Within my research and planning I completed a number of tasks which all held significance to my audience. This included both primary and secondary research. Both forms of research included audience questionnaires, in order to gain insight to listening preferences and habits along with looking at existing station websites, such as Ofcom.  Below are my blog posts within my research and planning to do with audience: Audience Radio websites and target audience Similar radio websites Adverts for target audience Primary research - Questionnaire Secondary research - Ofcom character of service sheets By completing this research, it enabled me to learn the factors which existing radio stations use to attract their target audience/listeners. I now understand that this is achieved through choice of news stories, speakers, jingles, adverts, playlists, representation, websites and the genre/style of station.  My character of service sheet for Northside FM shows how it is a local

My final radio show is called North Side fm, and is a local radio show, targeted towards younger listeners within North London. I portrayed this through the news stories being locally situated within this area, by choosing adverts which I felt would appeal to a target audience of 16-28 year olds and creating a jingle which made reference to North London.  My radio show is similar to existing radio stations, such as Kiss and Capital FM, in relation to the kinds of contemporary chart music they play, which is based for a similar target audience, in reference to age and gender, as mine is. Despite these similarities, our stations differ on the basis of the kinds of news stories which are included in their news bulletin. For instance, Kiss and Capital share a lot of national news stories as well as local news stories around london, whilst Northside fm focuses on purely local stories which have happened within the area that the show is broadcasted in.  Global is a British media comp

Evaluation - representation particular social groups

A main focus point within my research and planning were representations. I focused on these representations whilst listening to existing radio shows; Kiss and Magic. Whilst listening, I paid close attention to the presenters tone of voice, type of language (e.g. formal or informal) and the age of the presenters.  Both these radio shows have different genres and styles; which allowed me to get a better understanding on how this effects representation, whilst having the stations target audience in mind.  Below I have provided a link to my blog post within my research and planning about representations in both radio shows.  Kiss and Magic representations In my radio show, I wanted to ensure that all the different voices I had people playing remain authenticity throughout. For instance, I kept focused a lot on the voices for the news presenters, show presenters, in the adverts and vox pops. I thought about how these representations would appeal to my target audience, if they suited m
