Different types of jingles
After listening to a variety of different radio stations, I have concluded that there a number of different kinds of jingles on each station.
The site below includes many of the different types of jingles. I have used this as part of my research.

1) Weather Jingles
-The tone of weather jingles are usually a lot softer than other jingles
-They sometimes include sound effects (e.g. of the weather)
-Weather jingles for weather reports are usually played in the morning, so listeners have an outlook for the rest of their day
-Weather jingles will include the name of their station, and often have the word 'weather' at the end
-Companies usually sponsor weather jingles
2) Travel and traffic Jingles
-Travel and traffic jingles include the name of the station, with the word travel or traffic at the end
-These jingles do not always have music playing, sometimes they will have sounds of traffic in at the end
-There will sometimes be a slogan in these jingles
-Often played during breakfast time, and rush hour times, so listeners can set good timings on their days; in regards to being stuck in traffic.
-Sponsors are sometimes mentioned in these jingles
3) News Jingle
-Often the music of the jingle will reflect the genre of the show
-Usually includes the name of the radio station, with the word 'news' at the end
-Sometimes the music is more dramatic
-The tone of voice on news stations are more serious
4) Station Jingle
-Includes the frequency, station name, slogan that hints to the nature/style of the radio station and reflects the target audience
-Sometimes includes music which also reflects the genre of station/target audience
5) Show Jingle
-Usually reflects the overall nature of the show, e.g. entertaining, comic or humorous ect
-Includes the name of the station
-Includes the name of the show
-Includes the name of the presenter/presenters
-Sometimes includes a slogan which reflects/identifies the tone of the show
6) Sports Jingles
-May include a slogan
-Usually has upbeat music playing in order to get listeners excited to hear about the sports
-Often includes sound effects of crowds cheering
-Sports Jingles will always include the name of the station, with the word 'sports' at the end
7) Specific competition Jingles
-Listeners will hear the steamed up and passionate voices of the presenter/presenters as they mention the prizes of the competition
-The music played in these jingles will often reflect the nature of the competition and what it is for
