This news article, taken from 'BBC News', talks about 'Equal pay day' and what the gender pay gap is like where you are. Moreover, how it is going to change within 100 years, to becoming more equal pay. 

 I am going to analyze the article, and find the 5 W'S as well as the news values. Below is what I found:

What: Campaigners highlight this day and age the time where women on average stop being paid relative to their male counterparts 
Why: Gender differences in society and women being highlighted as more worthy in the work force

 Immeadiacy: The article was published about extremely recent events, happening that day, making the story 'breaking'.

 Familiarity: The story is culturally and geographically close to us, throughout England.

 Amplitude: This is a big event that effects both genders in the workforce, throughout England.

 Impact: This story will have a profound effect on public lives, as a high percentage of Englands Male and Female population are in the workforce.

 Scandal: This may cause moral outrage as well as differing opinions and arguments. Due to some women arguing that it should take less time than 100 years for the paygap to close

Dissimilar radio websites

After having looked at two radio websites which are similar to my radio station, I am now going to look at two radio websites which are dissimilar to my radio station. These two websites are going to be Magic and Talk Sport.  Magic radio website Magic's website has clearly been directed towards an older audience. Despite the colour scheme still being bright and appealing for younger people, and both genders, the presenter is older than the presenters on the other radio stations. This suggests that an older audience will tune into Magic as may feel as though what is being played is directed towards them more.  Unlike Radio 1 and Magic, these artists, such as Billy Jones, are more suited to an older audience as they are not as contemporary.  This image on their website references the 80's, which is a time period directed toward an older audience.  https://talksport.com/ Sports stations are usually targeted at male audiences; all...

Representation in News presenters

Throughout this post I am going to explore the ways in which News presenters come across to the audience whilst presenting the radio show. For instance, I will be taking note of voices used, language, 'banter', tone of voice and interactions with other presenters. In order to do this, I will be looking at two completely opposite types of radio stations; Kiss  and Magic. By doing this will help me to create the scripting for my own news bulletin.  The first radio show I am going to be looking at is Kiss. There were two presenters on this show, a young male and female. They both spoke in an informal manner, with a slow relaxed voice as well as having 'banter' with each other. An example of this is when they both started singing the lyrics to a Rihanna song, whilst laughing about it.  The second radio show news bulletin which I listened too was from Magic.
